DYRAX high wear and corrosion resistance
DYRAX material properties:
SDWST DYRAX is a special tool steel produced using metallurgical technology (VAR) process. It is a high-content martensitic stainless steel with high wear resistance and corrosion resistance. DYRAX has higher wear resistance than 440C, S136 and other high-chromium tool steels, and its corrosion resistance is better than 440C. The high content of DYRAX enables it to form a high-hardness carbon compound, which replaces the traditional chromium carbon compound and enhances wear resistance. The chromium in the matrix can provide higher corrosion resistance. When materials are required to have higher wear resistance, DYRAX's wear resistance and corrosion resistance make it the best substitute for 440C; it can also replace SKD11 and other tool steels to enhance the corrosion resistance of the material.
DYRAX (VAR) metallurgical technology evenly distributes the carbides of the material, enhancing its toughness and wear resistance.
DYRAX Application
Flame retardant fiberglass
Injection molding machine screw
Check valve accessories
Granulation equipment
Inlaid bushings for gates and nozzles
Slitting knives and blades
Special tools with high wear resistance
gear pump
High wear resistance, corrosion resistance and long life electronic parts mold
DYRAX mechanical properties and grinding properties:
Due to the high carbide content in DYRAX, its machining performance and grinding performance are slightly worse than D2 or 440C. Conventional grinding equipment and methods are feasible, and "SG" type alumina grinding wheels and CBN (cubic boron carbide) grinding wheels are more suitable for SDWST materials.
